How I began my Acupuncture journey

I have been practising Acupuncture for 20 years. I graduated at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York in 2002.

I started my acupuncture journey after suffering from M.E. at university which led to an interest in alternative medicine to help me through the health crisis I was experiencing. I looked into nutrition & lifestyle to help my mental health and increase my energy & well being.

Throughout my journey, I have studied diplomas in Aromatherapy massage & Reflexolgy. It was on a Reflexology course that I was writing an essay about the Chinese Meridians which flow into the feet that my interest for Chinese medicine began. I visited an acupuncturist in Liverpool who helped me significantly with my energy levels and well-being and helped release a lot of muscle tension in my neck shoulders and jaw area that I had been carrying. As I was leaving the Acupuncture clinic the acupuncturist gave me a prospectus for the Northern College of Acupuncture in York – it was from that moment I embarked on my journey to studying Acupuncture which lead to a fulfilling and fascinating career in Fertility Acupuncture.

How I gained an interest in Fertility Acupuncture

After having my first child I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks, which was both traumatic and exhausting, This experience threw me out of balance for over three months before I regained balance through Acupuncture, diet, Chinese medicine and lifestyle changes. This experience lead me to showing an interest in studying Fertility acupuncture courses to help other people on their fertility journey.

Today I run a successful fertility acupuncture clinic, Wirral Fertility Acupuncture. I also run the acupuncture service at the Hewitt Centre at Liverpool Women’s Hospital offering Acupuncture to fertility patients during IVF. I’m so grateful I am able to support people through their pregnancy journey.
